Dravidian University carries on an admission process for admission to its various PhD. Programmes. Dravidian University was formed through an initiative of Andhra Pradesh Government along with the cooperation of Government of other Southern states which include Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. For admission to PhD programmes of Dravidian university candidates have to apply from one side of an opening or location to the other an application form. Candidates are selected in these programmes through an entrance test and interview conducted at the university. On Campus stay is compulsory for students.

Candidates should have a MA in the respective language/discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55%.
