Directorate of Technical Education Tamil Nadu will conduct a TNDTE/ TNPCEE 2011 entrance exam for various Technical courses. There are at present 251 Polytechnics in Tamilnadu State providing Diploma courses, Post Diploma courses and Certificate courses on several branches of studies in Engineering and Technology. 10 Institutes of Catering Technology and Hotel Management providing 3 year Diploma courses are also associated to Directorate. The candidates who cleared the 10th Standard are eligible for admission for Polytechnic Colleges. Before the admission procedure is began, the expected qualifications such as Age, Marks required, and Number of Seats in the several categories etc. are published in the heading newspapers so that students may decide their choice of Polytechnic, Course etc.

Eligibility Conditions
A candidate must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with English in class 12th with an aggregate of atleast 50% in PCM for general category students. SC/ST candidates need to have atleast 45% aggregate in PCM.
Application Procedure
Candidate may be got by application form directly through the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai – 600025 or can be get by posting a requisition letter with a self-addressed slip and a DD drawn in favour of the Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University, Chennai payable at Service Branch, Chennai, obtained from any Nationalized Bank or Cooperative Bank before the last date. The candidate’s name must be written at the back of the Demand Draft.
Selection Criteria:
Candidates will be shortlisted on the base of their TNDTE/ TNPCEE marks. The shortlisted candidates will be called for further selection procedure dwelling of a Personal Interview & Group Discussion after which the final selections are made.
