Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore
Introduction
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidalaya was based in the year 1964 by an act of legislative assembly language of Madhya Pradesh. Abs initio it was known as the University of Indore and the legal power was determined to the district of Indore. Later in the year 1988 University was called after the famous and beneficent ruler of Malwa i.e. Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar. During shakeup of the schools the legal power of the University was expanded over to Indore part crossing over Six Districts. In Indore division, there are fifty four development blocks, out of which forty growth blocks are named as tribal blocks. In all there are 153 associated colleges adding education at UG/PG level in almost all the basic & professional fields. University now has 6000 students in its campus and total 1,20,000 students in its associated colleges. University has 16 Faculties.
Devi Ahilya University: Indore University was established in 1964 by an act of legislative assemblage of Madhya Pradesh and named as Devi Ahilya University: Indore University. The jurisdiction of the university was limited to Indore district. In 1988, the university was renamed after Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar as Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. The word Vishwavidyalaya is Hindi for university, thus the university is called Devi Ahilya University: Indore University.
During shakeup of the universities, the jurisdiction of the university was elaborated over to Indore division, which spans over seven districts.
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore in Madhya Pradesh has issued the notification for entrance exam 2009 for admission into the following programs offered in the new donnish session 2009.
