CUSAT Biotechnology
Cochin University of Science & Technology has various departments. Biotechnology is a department of CUSAT. The mandate of the centers is to train human resources in Biotechnology and to provide to the needs of the nation in attaching the vast biodiversity and to promote bio industries, not only in the state of Kerala but also in the country. The centre organizes annual workshops, meetings, lectures and awareness programmes. Research activities of the Department are presently centered on areas such as Microbial Technology, Medical Biochemistry, Genetic Engineering, Molecular Neurobiology, Cell Biology and Plant Biotechnology.

Eligibility
Candidate should have a bachelor degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks from any recognized university.
Admission process
Candidate should have 60% of the M.Sc. students clear the NET and 80% pass the GATE. 31 students have so far taken their doctoral degrees from the Department.
