Christ University in Bangalore, India founded in 1969 by the fathers of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, the first indigenous Catholic religious congregation in India, is managed by the CMI. The CMI runs around 400 schools, 30 colleges and a number of hospitals at various locations in India. The college was granted deemed university status in 2008.
