Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University is a medical university situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This university came into existence after the rising slope of King George Medical College, Lucknow into a university by an act passed by government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002. King George Medical College was founded in 1911 and is amongst the prime medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh as well as India. The institution is committed with the task of spreading advance knowledge in biomedical sciences and founding itself as a centre of excellence in tertiary level health care in the state.
