The Botanical Survey of India (BSI) at Dehradun is under the supervising of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. It supervises botanical resources by studying their presence, distribution, ecology, economic utility, preservation, environment impact, etc. The Botanical Survey of India is a significant center for research in plant systematic and classification in North India. Its primary project is to fulfill florist studies of fields under its jurisdiction. A significant facility of information of resources, recorded and live, the BSI plays a significant role in satisfying India’s loyalties to diverse international patterns. The major operable section of the circle for undertaking diverse research activities are: herbarium, museum, library, desktop publishing (computer) unit, photography and mapmaking unit and experimental botanic garden.
