Biotechnology Department of Barkatullah University was Brought about or set up or accepted; especially long established in academic year July 1997.Department was started with just 10 students initially. After which Department Made greater in size, amount or degree the no. of seats in PG Degree course to 30.Department offers PG Degree course in Biotechnology and also run Ph.D. programs in various research domains in Biotechnology. It conducts the courses of M.Sc. Biotechnology and Ph.D. program in Biotechnology.

The semester examination ordinarily, is held every year at the time mentioned below, the actual date of commencement of written examination being announced by the Registrar by a notification in advance, viz:
First and Third Semester Examination –December
Second and Fourth Semester Examination- May
Application for Appearing At Examination
A student of the University Teaching Department seeking admission to a semester examination shall submit his/her application on prescribed form to the office of the Registrar by the date fixed for the purpose, together with the fees for the examination as prescribed by the Ordinance and also the following certificates, from the head of the Department, viz. certificates of.
