Introduction
The Directorate of Distance Education established in 1979 bids four hundred and one unlike curricula of study under the Regular current. To serve its students’ patronage in their best interest at their doorway steps.
The Directorate of Distance Education is also extending the Programmes on Fashion Design, cloth Design, Interior Design, Hotel Management and providing Technology Programmes, recount Management, matching Programme, Programmes on wellness Science, Commonwealth Youth Programme, exercise, Music, Fire and Safety, pharmaceutics and tax Programmes.
The Directorate is introducing layer. Programme through distance teaching mode from the year with the approval of National Council for educator Education, New Delhi. The Annamalai University is a unitary, teaching and resident university.

During the last eighty years the University has developed rapidly and fused its position as a unitary and residential University with Forty nine Departments of Study and over 2500 members on its teaching staff.
