Aligarh muslim university is a residential academic institution located in the city of aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university was established in 1857. The college was originally affiliated with the University of Calcutta, and was transferred to the Allahabad University in 1885. The university offered PhD doctorate course. The admission to M. Phil / Ph.D. is granted by the Academic Council on the recommendation of the respective Board of Studies / Committee for Advanced Studies and Research and the Faculty.
