AICF CHESS

Introduction
The All India Chess Federation (AICF) is the central administrative body for the game of chess in India. Founded in 1951, AICF plays the most significant role for governing chess in India. Apart from being the national body, it also governs most of the other chess affiliations in India. The All India Chess Federation has not only prepared events at the national level, but also sponsored various regional events, which are mainly prepared by the state Chess affiliations. It not only manages the Men’s Chess in India, but is also in charge of supervising Women’s Chess in India.

It’s nearly nine months to go for the World Chess Championship match between Viswanathan Anand and the Bulgarian Veselin Topalov, and it seems Bulgaria has already stolen a march in mind games. The All India Chess Federation (AICF) forms numerous tournaments and events at the national level and also sponsors various regional events, organized by the state Chess affiliations. According to a communication from the AICF which applied its central council meeting in Chennai, even though the standards for selection has been players’ ratings, they have been directed to play the Nationals to be considered for selection.
