Introduction
Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is a sovereign, grant-in-aid research institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It was founded in 1946 by the Maharashtra affiliation for the perfection of Science as MACS Research Institute and renamed as ARI in 1992 in honor and memory of its founder Director, late Professor S.P. Agharkar. Pune is classified as an education and research hub due to the fact that numerous research institutions for higher education have reproduced in Pune since India’s independence. research institutes supply research facility to students such as, Tropical Meteorology, Cell Sciences, Chemical Laboratory (NCL), water and power research ,Astronomy and Astrophysics, Virology, Radio Astrophysics, Development of Advanced Computing, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology. 70 research programs have been recognised by the University for Agharkar Research Institute Pune for research purpose.

The Agharkar Research Institute Library is one of the significant science reference libraries in city of Pune, particularly for the Biological Sciences.
