The Armed Forces Medical College was made at Pune on 01 May 1948 by the amalgamation of Army Medical Training Centre, the Army School of Hygiene, the Central Military Pathology Laboratory, the School of Blood Transfusion and Army School of Radiology. The entrance exam for B.Sc Nursing and GNM course the graduate wing of AFMC is affiliated to University of Pune and recognized by Medical Council of India. The Armed Forces Medical College is inviting application for its new academic session 2011-2012 for Bachelor of Science – B.Sc (Nursing) and General Nursing and Midwifery – GNM courses, other related details are given below:-

Eligibility Conditions
The Indian Female who are unmarried or divorcee/legally separated or widow without encumbrances or born between 01 Jan 85 and 01 Jan 93 are eligible for applying this course.
Educational Qualification – Applicants must have passed in the first attempt senior secondary (10+2)/ equivalent examination from a recognized Board /University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks as a regular student.
How to Apply
The application form can be got by sending a Bank DD per copy an nationalized bank payable at Pune in favour of Commandant, AFMC, Pune, along with full postal address of the applicant on 2 separate slips of paper, The application form also may be downloaded from the Armed Forces Medical College official website.
Method of selection:
Candidates have to first give a written test. The syllabus of the written test will be same as 11th and 12th standard Syllabus. Those who clear the written test will be called for interviews and medical test at a later stage.
Written Examination Centers:
Bangalore, Chandimandir, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Vishakapatnam, the number of centers may change as per the number of candidates appearing for the written test.
