The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold a competitive Examination in 2011 named Geologists Examination for recruitment to the following posts, Candidates will be selected under category 1 are appointed on probation for 2 years. During this period of time they have to experience training and clear test or examination ordained by the competent authority. Candidates under category II are also appointed on probation for 2 years.
Category I (i) Geologist (Junior), Group A
(ii) Assistant Geologist, Group B in the Geological Survey of India.
Category II (i) Jr. Hydro-geologist, Group A
(ii) Assistant Hydro-geologist, Group B in the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) at selected centers in India.

Age – limits: 21-32 years on 1st January of the year of examination.
Educational Qualification
Master’s degree in Geology/Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university; or Diploma of Associate-ship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad; or Master’s degree in Mineral exploration from a recognized university (for posts in GSI); or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized university (for posts in CGWB)
Scheme of Examination
Candidates competing for both categories have to appear in the following papers:-

Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit out according to the Regulations given in Appendix-ll of Rules for the Geologist’s Examination, 2011 published by Ministry of Mines in the Gazette of India dated 14th June, 2011.

Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form contrived by the Commission for its examinations which can be bought from the specified Head Post Offices/Post Offices all over the nation against cash. Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT) will conduct an entrance test (held on April, 2011) result for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) program on First week of May, 2011. List of successful candidates will be issued online and Award letters will be sent to them after receiving necessary documents. Award letter request will be made till November, 2011 or else award letter request will not be consented. Students cannot join and activate their fellowship before the date of issue of the award letter.

Eligibility: - The applicants must have Master degree in an appropriate area of Biotechnology.
Selection: – Selection of the candidate will be made by written test followed by interview. Written test and interview will be held at various centers mentioned in the candidate’s admit card.
Reservation: 15%, 7 &1/2%, 3% of seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates severally. All the SC/ST and PH candidates who have cleared the qualifying examination are eligible to apply for irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.

There are 75 seats for the MBBS course out of which 20 seats are reserved for Pondicherry natives.
Application process
Application forms can send with a DD prescribed amount drawn from any nationalized bank in favor of the Accounts Officer, JIPMER, Puducherry payable at Puducherry. The handicapped candidates must send their medical certificate and SC/ST candidates must send community certificate along with the DD and application form.
Examination Centers: The MBBS entrance test will be held at Puducherry, Chennai Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Thiruvanthapuram.

Indian Institute of Science is calling for applications for Entrance Exam (IISc) 2011 to the following (i) Research Program [Ph D / M Sc (Engg)] (ii) Course Program [ME/M Tech/M Des] (iii) Integrated Ph D Program and (iv) External Registration Program (Ph D only) at the Institute. Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on their C.V. and performance in the interview. The interview will be taken at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, during October/November 2011, and candidates called for interview will be paid II class railway (non-AC)/bus fare by the shortest route from their home town. If the candidate assumes the fellowship, he/she should join the host Institution/University within a month’s time.

The Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) is a conversion test; it modifies lawyers who are skilled in certain jurisdictions outside England and Wales (and barristers of England and Wales) to specify as lawyers in England and Wales. Those lawyers desirable to sit the exam must be foreign lawyers or abroad lawyers qualified in jurisdictions that are recognised by the Law Society of England and Wales (The Law Society) or must be barristers qualified to practice in England and Wales.
Eligibility -
Before sitting the QLTT candidates should get a Certificate of Eligibility from The Law Society of England and Wales. This may take six to eight weeks to procedure. The certificate confirms which Heads must be cleared and any requirement for promote training. This will change according to the main jurisdiction of the applicant. Please contact The Law Society to get a certificate booking form and for more detailed information on the QLTT requirements and jurisdictional eligibility. A Certificate of Eligibility is not essential for the tuition or revision courses.

Common Entrance Test for Pondicherry Private Medical Colleges (CETPPMC) will be held in 2011for admission to MBBS course in Private Medical Colleges in Pondicherry. The administration council of the examination is the Pondicherry Linguistic & Religious Minority Medical & Dental Colleges Welfare Association. Candidates may only appear once for CETPPMC although SC/ST candidates may appear 2 times for CETPPMC.

Eligibility for Admission

Note that candidates with Engineering degree (BE/BTech) are not considered.
